Pruning after fruiting allows this delicious mulberry to be kept under 3 meters, and also encourages multiple cropping throughout the summer. It is best to pick the fruit when ripe, as it doesn't ripen further off the tree. A benefit of a mulberry tree is that the fruit ripens over an extended period of time unlike other fruit that often ripens all at once. Very low chill so can be grown successfully throughout subtropical regions.
Popularity: 1 Lime - Tahitian
The small to medium fruit is pale lemon-yellow with smooth thin skin. The flesh is a translucent pale green, tender and juicy with a true acid lime flavour. It is best to pick the fruit green as it can suffer from rot if left to ripen on the tree.
Popularity: 1 Blueberry - Sharpblue
Excellent quality large fruit. Very low chill requirements and self-pollinating. A tough and vigorous bush. It has grown well in both sandy soils and heavier loams. The fruit has a wet scar, and is likely to become soft during very hot weather, meaning that it needs to be harvested frequently to overcome this.
Popularity: 1 Blueberry - Powderblue
One of the toughest blueberry varieties. It is a late season variety that may be planted with Tifblue for good cross-pollination. It can be mechanically harvested for fresh fruit, and the fruit has a very attractive pale blue colour, is medium in firmness and medium in size.
