The variety Biloxi was developed as a pollinator for Misty in Mississippi, for early season areas. One of the parents of this variety is Sharpeblue. In early trial plantings on the North Coast, it has fruited well with large medium flavoured berries early, but the fruit size drops off towards the end of the season. The fruit is light blue, with a mottled bloom appearance. It is of average flavour, with a medium scar and firm fruit. So far, in trial plantings, Biloxi has a habit of producing late spring flowering and a second harvest, during January and February.

One of the most prolific varieties known. Suited to high density planting. Medium sized nut. Very easily shelled and precocious variety that crops well without cross pollination. Ideal back yard variety.

A precocious and heavy cropping variety in subtropical areas. Good quality medium to large oval nuts with a thin shell. A vigorous tree with an upright habit that makes an excellent backyard tree. Suited to high density plantings.

This is the tallest of the native pines and it is quite capable of reaching heights of more than 40 meters making it an impressive addition to my garden. It is a wonderful bird-attracting tree, as they love to nest in its protective prickly foliage and is an excellent host for lots of native orchid species.
