A low growing plant to 1m with long narrow blade like leaves and woody aerial roots. In tropical climates it can be grown as a marginal plant in dams and ponds, used as a bedding plant in tropical landscaping. However it is most widely cultivated for use in Asian cooking and basket making. Allow the plant to dry out over the winter months.

A beautiful ornamental tree that produces bean pods containing soft fluffy flesh that is sweet and juicy. Frost tender when young. This tropical selection has a long bean with superb flavour. Being more tropical it hasnt proven as weedy as the Inga edulis species.

Best to mix with other varieties so that when this one is not fruiting another variety is.
