A large, deep purple-red fruit. Flesh is deep crimson in colour, juicy and of a delicious vinous flavour. Seeds not very hard. Good for juicing and eating out of hand. Recently imported Tangor, with rich, sweet juicy flavour. The tree is moderate in size and vigor. Thin, smooth, orange rind that is easy to peel. The fruit is low-seeded in the absence of cross-pollination, but seedy when cross-pollinated. Flying Dragon modifies the top growth making this a dwarf plant that is ideal to use planted out or as a pot specimen. Trees will grow to about half the normal citrus size. A hardy, compact tree growing to 2 meters at full maturity. Long thin leaves are glossy and dark green. A beautiful display of rose-pink flowers are produced in spring. A moderate crop of fruit is produced mid-late season. Size and shape is medium and round to oblong. Skin colour is orange-yellow with a deep red blush. Famous for its spicy roots, it has a hot biting taste with a hint of sweetness. The plant is a hardy perennial herb that will grow rampantly under most condition except full shade and in wet ground. It is best controlled by growing in a container. Roots will keep in the ground throughout winter and can be harvested as required. They are an excellent source of sulfur.
