Jakfruit can also be eaten (cooked) before they ripen. Called 'poor man's chicken'. It is unlawful to cut down a Jakfruit tree in India. Tip,remember to coat your knife and hands with vegetable oil before cutting. Stops all that waterproof latex sap from sticking to your hands and knife.
