Hay Peter, put some black shade cloth around the plant. If is wind effected, reduce that. Then plenty of water with a hand full of pot ash once a month. This time of the year I am still putting on 20 l every 2 days. John

Hi Peter did it come with no tips or has it started to lose the tips since you got it?
If some of the leaves came with the tips missing this is probably because when it is grafted the leaves are cut in half so that it puts energy into healing the graft rather then the leaves.

Your tree was sent to you in perfect condition. This forum is so you find out what to do next. Your tree is very difficult to grow in Adel. You need to protect it from the wind for a start. It hates frosts so protect it from the chilly mornings we are having. If you live on linestond sand, you need to water it more than normal. If on the better soils then about 10 litres 3 times a week I suggest at the moment. In summer that daily.
Your tree needs to grow quick for protection. It shoud grow know fast. Use for now a seaweed extract to get the micro hairs growing. In 2 weeks add some trace elements. A week later pot ash for fast growth. A week later some all round fruit tree fertilizer.
You need to keep the pot ash up to the tree in small amounts on a monthly basis. The tree in its element is huge but in Adel may be 2 meters is enough. My tree is still only 3/4m tall after 6 months and I am 700k's west of you.John

If this is you from Adelaide. My tree is growing fast at the moment. Its in morning sunshine only. The summer heat here will damage it, so yes plant it on a southern aspect. Now is the time to put it in the ground. You have to get the plant large enough to stand up to frosts in october.
