Anthracnose treatment in simple tern

    6 responses

Hi everyone,
I am a novice when it came to gardening. I am growing everything organically, I use manure to fertilize, and not use insecticides because it seems to me all this N P K copper, magnesium ... and proportion 10% of this,5% of that and so on.... give me a headache. I am no chemist. Anyway, I currently have a few mango seedlings, all is ok except for the Nam Doc Mai seedlings, leaves turned red around the edges, I had no picture taken because as usual all I did was pinched the leaves off.
Could it be anthracnose?
I have on idea. Even if it was not, would someone tell me how to treat anthracnose in a simple way. Thanks

Hi markmelb ,
If it is the cold, then NDM mangoes are less cold hardy than KP, E2R2. Hm I thought ndm would do better than KP in winter. E2R2 are the most vigorous. I germinated all 3 varieties at the same time in spring last year btw.

Anthracnose is black - my grafted NDM is doing ok next to my KP and my palmer new leaves are a bit yellow and not growing much but not shrivelling up either - best of all is my Honey Gold seedling (7.5mth old) - looks quite cold hardy and wanting to push growth - will plant that in ground soon in a raised bed :)

Hi markmelb,
Anthracnose is black. Thanks for the info. Sorry I had not known that :-)
if I remember correctly Daley recommended only e2r2, ndm for Melbourne climate. That was why I chose them to grow. Of the 3 mangos I love ndm the most. I hope it will recover after the winter.
