Roy starts with ... Hi All, I have an established apple tree (> 10 yrs) which used to fruit nicely with the apples ripening just after Christmas. Last year all the blossoms dropped and this year the procedure appears to be repeating itself. The blossoms form ok but the flower drops before forming a fruit leaving just the stems. Sorry the pictures are a bit out of focus but hopefully they still show what I'm describing. The tree seems healthy enough, I had sprayed with lime solution to combat scab but Ive done that in the past without problems. Any ideas ?

Daleys Fruit Tree Nursery says... Hi Roy, apples will crop best if they have cross pollination from a suitable pollinator. Do you know what type of apple you have? If not and you have space for another tree you can go shopping for a tree that is in flower at the same time your ois flowering, this may help with pollination and fruit set. | About the Author Daleys Fruit Tree Nursery 36 Daleys Lane, Geneva via Kyogle, NSW 2474 21st October 2015 11:33am #UserID: 5172 Posts: 80 View All Daleys Fruit Tree Nursery's Edible Fruit Trees |
