Brain says... Apple tree - subjective, my pick would be Gala, Sundowner, Red delicious. Do also google on pollination requirements. Pot size - square (roots do go round and round), and quite wide and deep (equally). At least 45/50 cm. though you can start off with smaller. Soil - premium potting mix, buy the best you can afford. The catch is, they don't like too wet feet - so good drainage but in summer, they would need water top ups, as the qld sun bakes them. Make sure you get M26 rootstock or smaller! Also act quickly, lots of the bare rooted stock are being sold. | About the Author Brain Brisbane 10th July 2015 5:54pm #UserID: 6289 Posts: 638 View All Brain's Edible Fruit Trees |
