Avocado Fruit

    1 responses

Ravin1 starts with ...
I live in Brisbane and last year my Hass avocado started to produce fruit (after app 4-5 years). This year however the tree had lots of flowers and lot of fruit.
However, in the last two weeks, the fruit all turned black on the tree and has fallen off...
Is there any reason why this has happened...it has been terribly hot in Brisbane in this period...34-36 degree days???

Hi Ravin1. i have a Avacado tree and i live in brisbane also. the tree is the size of a 2 storey house. it has produced fruit every year i have lived in the house. my tree is also dropping its fruit early too. i think it could be the heat like you said. my tree is at least 30 years old.
is your tree very big? maybe it could do with a prune during winter. and a bit of a feed. sometimes plants suffer in heat too

cheers
