Not only does it have enough flowers to set fruit this year. It's also a type A. After 15 years wait, I'm a very lucky boy.

@ topic Seedling even, over excitement.

Hi Jason - your so excited you forgot to write which A variety is going so well -
How old is the seedling?

My in ground for 21 Months Lamb Hass is absolutely covered in flowers and holding a third of winter leaves with new growth spurting along - shame as my big Bacon hasnt produced flowers yet and flowers not extended even (other bacons are flowering tho) and the Reed behind it is at same stage - I need an earlier flowering B now :)
The pics go Bacon - Reed - Lamb Hass

Hi Markmelb, my Lamb Hass has about 50 very small fruit on atm, so mine's a lot earlier, because of where I live :-)
My second attempt at a Reed has finally decided to take off! It sat there doing nothing for 6 months, after 42mm rain, she's away :-) Photos later.
Jason, try giving your tree extra P & K fertilizer, you can buy it in a liquid don't forget :-) Searles & Manutec make it, and spray the whole tree.

Hey what? why am I giving it more fertilizer? There's nothing wrong with it.

Mark it's a seedling (15 years old), ie Jason Variety number 1. By the way my Bacons are as of today properly ripe.

My other seedling that will probably fruit this year is a type B but that one is getting cut down regardless as it's hard up against the house (came up by itself from a thrown away seed). As a type B it'll be next to useless here anyway.

The seedling type A is flowering earlier than Hass and Reed, can't wait to see what mix it is.

Whats really strange this year my larger Bacon is late and about to flower at same time as my reed which you will note Jason as quite early.
Lamb Hass in pics has almost finished flowering and the LH with fruit doing a small top flower are late as is Wurtz doing a top flower but not fruit - keep a note of this for next year :)

Hi Jason, the reason for extra P & K fertilizer. Most 'seed-grown' avos have large seeds, it's just the way they are :-(
It's nearly impossible to reduce the size of the seed of a seed-grown avocado!
But, by feeding seed-grown avo trees extra P & K fertilizer, we can increase the thickness of the flesh, which is 'nearly' the same as reducing the size of the seed :-) Try it.
