Hi, we rencently bought two newly grafted Hass Avocado trees from our local nursery. We were advised to repot them into bigger pots with potting mix. I did this but now the leaves are starting to go brown on the ends. They are in full shade and we water them regularly. They are free draning. I am really worried. I have only one good one left cause my dog ate the other!!! HRRR. Can anyone help. I am really worried and no good with plants.

Avocados will need more or less full sun to be happy. Also dont water them too much. Maybe once every 3-4 days. It can cause tip burn due to a build up a salts and impurities in our tap water. Put some mulch over the top of the soil to help keep the water you do give in.

Hi rinmark, thanks. So you do not reckon the summer heat will burn them. they were cultivated in a protected environment under shadecloth. Also we use only rainwater. Do you think it can be the potting mix?

Probably your answer right there. They were cultivated under shade and are now in full sun. Young avocados will do well under shade. As a precautionary measure, spray them once/month with Phosacid.
