Lamps starts with ... My avocado tree has leaves browning at the end and then the leaves are rapidly falling from the tree. We live quite near the beach with sandy soil - could it be saline water causing the problem and how do I fix it? Last year all the buds fell from the tree and we didn't get one avocado. Julie says... I hate to be negative, but your poor avocado will never be really happy so near the coast. The salt winds will burn the leaves and it will struggle to survive. Even in the tropics they do best in the cooler hills. Gardening near the beach can be tough anyway, but trying to grow tropical trees is a big ask. If you really want to push the boundaries, you need to set up a shelter belt first, growing trees and shrubs that will protect the later plantings. | About the Author Julie Roleystone WA 4th September 2016 9:54pm #UserID: 154 Posts: 1842 View All Julie's Edible Fruit Trees |
