Bangkok says... Mark i have bought all avocadovarieties that i ever saw in Thailand. Hass chatuchak market Hass imported from Spain Booth #5 Michael (or MAckel) madamia(from Africa) Pinkerton Peterson It's very hard to get grafted avocado's here but i've got them. Booth #5 is grown in my area, saw those on the local market at the temple. The rest i don't know. I've seen hass-chatuchak bearing fruit when 40 cm tall and just grafted, don't know where it was grown. Winter is coming soon so we'll see if i get flowers. | About the Author Bangkok Thailand 8th November 2016 1:54am #UserID: 11594 Posts: 370 View All Bangkok's Edible Fruit Trees |
Markmelb says... They all sound interesting - hope they flower this year - Have you tried to source Safu tree -- Dacryodes edulis as is likened to an Avocado and grows in hot climates like yours and has similarities to an Avocado texture - seeds are available thru Europe and Linton may be able to help you with with a seed source? | About the Author Markmelb MOUNT WAVERLEY,3149,VIC 8th November 2016 9:13am #UserID: 7785 Posts: 1192 View All Markmelb's Edible Fruit Trees |

Bangkok says... The safou easily gets cooked. A temperature of 20°c within two hours is enough for it. Therefore, It should be tranported on a cold temperature of maximum 5°c That one will get cooked while on the tree here, even at night its' 30 celcius. I will see them when they arrive in Europe. I do have a tree of that red indonesian fruit which tastes like avocado and is family, forget the name of it. But i need 2 of those for pollination. When you make a multigrafted avocadotree not all varieties grow well on a certain rootstock. Peterson almost won't grow on any rootstock. Don't know if i have enough patience for the avocadotree to fruit, it better speeds up making fruit now. | About the Author Bangkok Thailand 9th November 2016 12:54am #UserID: 11594 Posts: 370 View All Bangkok's Edible Fruit Trees |
