Best Garden Tool

My favourite at the moment is my 360º sprayer. It has a one litre bottle and a nozzle that turns, 'available from all good nurseries' as they say. With the rain and new shoots on every tree I'm out often with my Peter Cundall white oil. Spraying young citrus leaves until they firm is my way of keeping away leaf miners and aphids. Spraying undersides of leaves and stems keep check on scales.

I had one before and the neck broke, but yes, its a very handy tool to get under the leaves and the nozzle has a very fine spray, well worth the money.

Only issue i have is, i cant seem to find it again. I have been searching for almost a year with no luck, anyone in bris seen one of late?

Brain if you mean the nozzle is broken you can buy them without the bottle:

Daleys is listed as a stockist so perhaps they can get them in.

I just had to show off my best garden tool, and second best. The Cranvel steam shovel makes light work when I want to plant a fruit tree. The Howard "Terrier" makes light work in the garden bed.

Pile of junk Mary? They are my pride and joy. It's amazing how much back breaking work they save. It's much more fun operating them then being on the end of hand tools. When you visit, I'll throw you on the steam shovel and see how you go ;)

That Howard terrier would be worth some serious money to the right collector. Very, very hard to get, especially one that is functional. Great old tools. That's the third one I've seen, and the only one I've seen with the emblem still in tact.

Things aren't made that well anymore. I'll bet it weighs a tonne. Pretty sure they're American made.

Built right here in Aus. Every part is still available. Runs well, also have a Howard Gem, the one with the rubber tyres.

Crazy to think that a piece of machinery over 60 years old, being worked in Australia not only still holds itself together but works. A beautiful thing.

Have never seen a gem. Where did you pick these up?

A beautiful thing is right I love em. I found the Terrier lying on it's side in long grass at a job I was doing 10-12 years ago. The owner was calling the scrap people in to clean the place up. I insisted she take a couple of hundred for it, to her it was just junk that had to go. Took a bit to get her going again, but was complete.
You wouldn't believe it, but I snagged the Howard Gem at a garage sale a few years ago near my place. It didn't have a price on it but I had to ask. The guy just came out with $100. After I picked myself up off the ground I couldn't get the cash to him fast enough. The Gem is in really good condition.

thanks mary about the nozzle, that's the exact one I'm after, I will go hunting around for it as the cost of freight is more than the item itself :(
