Bisexual pawpaw

    1 responses

Ross starts with ...
I recently purchased several bisexual red pawpaws from Bunnings ($10ea) to fill rare vacant spots in the garden. Now that they have progressed to flowering stage one of them is about to produce male flowers. Do I sacrifice this one and replace with a new purchase or preserver in the hope that it will produce male fruit which is known to happen?

The sex ratios of bisex paw paw seeds when crossed to any of the 3 sexes is well known.Just ditch males as even on the low likelihood of fruit they will taste poor.
