allybanana starts with ... My best Asima tree now seven years old has a black rot in the cambrium (the interface of wood and bark one big branch has already died the rest is healthy, I am hoping the whole tree is not ring barked with the rot. Normally I would remove sick trees but this is a rarer tree and has been growing very well. Has anyone got an idea what the rot could be, Should I use a systemic fungercide?? and then check for ring barking and create bridge graft if neccecary. Markmelb says... Ive found a similar problem with my Sofia Cherimoya - not so much a collar rot but no top growth due to lack of root growth - im blaming the soil muck it came in - did anti rot and watered with yates liquid blue - seemed to pick up a bit but I bit the bullet and repotted into a smaller pot with a better drained mix after shaking as much old soil muck off and treating like a bare rooted planting - watered in with seasol and contemplating to do a watering of cutting root hormone? Any idea would be appreciated. | About the Author Markmelb , 29th January 2015 10:37pm #UserID: 7785 Posts: 1192 View All Markmelb's Edible Fruit Trees |
