Could you advise the best variety of Blueberry suitable for the Buderim area of Sunshine Coast? I have one "Gulf Coast". Seems to be going well in a pot but had it only a short time

well, I'll ay this:

I've really changed my mind on the blueberry burst.

This is a fantastic cv. I let the berries ripen on the bush longer than usual, and they are fantastic. Incredibly abundant, and can handle the heat and crop well in it.

Won't be buying other varieties from hereon out. They're that good.

You're about an hour from my place Glen.

sternus, so if you buy more BB, how will that affect pollination? I'm still a little confused about this.

I thought you needed another variety? I have one each of Blueberry Burst, Misty and Sharpe Blue. All flowering and fruiting now. From what you say (haven't tasted fruit yet) it may be worth getting another BB later on.

Nope, Blueberry burst is self fertile. Sets crazy amount of fruit without a pollinator. Not seeing any downsides yet.

One of my burst is growing v well and starting to flower. Another one about 2 metres away was loosing leaves to something. Covered it with a net and is recovering well. It is a bit small so I will be pulling the flower off. I have them in pots. Live in Brisbane

Very happy with BB as well. They are fruiting well ahead of all the other cultivars.

I have 2 BB plants and 1 Nelly Kelly. The BB are fruiting now quite heavily are much bigger than the other type.I have been growing them in a potting mix quite different to whats specified .I have had all the plants for about 18 months. The only downside is all the blueberry plants are vulnerable to what looks like cabbage moth (green worms) attack and have to check under the leaves daily and squash the worms.Looking at the photo your plant has had an attack from something. The worms will start eating the fruit if you dont get them under control.Look out for worms that have become pupate. They will do this under the leaves with this white web like thread around them .Squash them or more worms will come.

Interesting to see how everyone is going round the country with their BBs - here is a pic of a friends BB which is in a warmer spot I think than mine in a more open area. Our Nellie Kellies are quite loaded too - friend with set fruit and mine loaded with setting flowers :)
