Yep, listen to this good advice. If, and thats a big if, you grow a tree from seed, you have about a 1 in 10 chance of seeing fruit in 7 years. But for about $20 you can buy one and have fruit in three years. Be carefull, know you fruit and buy what you want, most labels tell little lies. Also your davidson may have a different name in a different state. Sounds like a european type to me so look it up, and find out about it. Most ot these need pollinaters and dont like the wind to much. I have four of these. Taste great mate. Good luck

I'm no expert on Davidson plum but my understanding is that planting fresh seed with all fruit flesh removed is the key to good germination. When to do this is likely to depend on the variety you have as they can fruit at diffeent times. The smaller Davidsonia Jerseyana is the very rare NSW species and Pruriens is the North QLD one and there is also Johnsonii which has smooth leaves. I think anonymous' advice must be based on the misunderstanding that these are a member of the Prunus genus but Davidsonia is a native species. I believe partial shade is beneficial to tree growth, however full sun will increase fruit yeild.
