Dwarf lime tree

    4 responses

Dwarf lime tree starts with ...
Lime FRUIT of my dwarf Lime tree (small about less than plumb size) & turning yellow. Leaves beginning to drop. Plenty of water & fertiliser. Cut one in half and appears & tastes normal.

Really interested in the apparent small sized fruit it's bearing

if your lime is a sublime (or West Indian Lime), then yes, the lime are a lot smaller, i.e. a tad smaller than a golf ball. And yes, they do turn yellow when starting to ripe.

I have a sublime, and I have noticed the leaves does drop a bit, particularly in response to drier conditions.

If you take some pictures and post here, I'm sure some of the other members can give you better answers.

I saw some commercial Tahitian Limes almost as big as a cricket ball compared to mine at springvale last weekend - my 5 yo Sublime has heaps on it this year finally about another month from picking - Hurry Up - but have picked some golf ball tahitians on a dwarf flying dragon rootstock plant that feel juicy and is in first season - pretty good I say compared to sublime - my grafted key Lime is growing really well so far and flowering now too?

They do all turn yellow when matured. In order of size in this pic: Australian Round, Tahitian and Indonesian.

Nothing unusual about large Tahitian limes. Towards the end of the cropping season the remaining limes become more elongated and large like you have noted.
