pokey bird starts with ...
my fejoa trees have not bourne any fruit , they are 7 years old . they have very few flowers , grown in full sun in the hinterland of the gold coast .

Depends, don't buy seedling fejoa from bunnings. Grafted is ok, especially if the variety is named.

Is lack of bee pollination a possible reason?You may have to grow some flowers nearby?eg Lavender.

Also depends on temperature, soil, water, etc. they are far more suited to the south than the north. I've got a couple of 4+ yo grafted plants and only one has even put out a flower. So it's not always just a seedling vs grafted issue. Chill hours shouldn't be a problem either. I've heard that the commercial growers on the Sunshine Coast give lots of water to get good fruiting.

thanks everyone for your suggestions , the trees were bought from a reputable nursery, they are grafted . will try more water .
