Antony starts with ... I have 2.5M tall ficus coronata which has been growing in the ground for around 7 years. It has fruited on several occasions, however it only reaches the unripened green stage and then falls off. I have never seen the dark ripe fruit and I am also eager to try it. What could be the cause of this issue? I am contemplating cutting this tree down and putting a daley's variety ficus coronata 'birds-eye' in its place. denise1 says... I have one of these trees and they approach spring laden with green fruit also. Because they are most at home near creeks I always water them and get pickings every second or third day for a long season. I keep it pruned to help harvest access but not too much of last seasons wood as that is what gives the next crop. It is probably good to keep it and also plant another just in case. My seedling has small spikes at the end of the fruits that are easy to trim off. | About the Author denise1 auckland NZ 27th April 2014 6:25am #UserID: 6832 Posts: 688 View All denise1's Edible Fruit Trees |
