Bunster starts with ... Hi there. I recently bought a finger lime from Bunnings in Darwin and brought it home and put it in a semi shaded place and watered it. It then got left for a few days before I could pot it out without water as I had to go away suddenly. The leaves have all dried out and I'm worried I've killed it. Will it come back if I repot if and maybe prune it back?

jakfruit etiquette says... They usually recover. All those leaves will fall off and a new lot will grow. Dont prune, but rub oir blow off dry leaves. I wouldn't repot it now, its another shock, and without leaves its now a smaller plant. Lift up the pot before and after watering and check for XS run thru, in case the pot mix is too dry and repels water. If so try to wet it up without over soaking it too long. | About the Author jakfruit etiquette vic 17th August 2016 8:01am #UserID: 5133 Posts: 915 View All jakfruit etiquette's Edible Fruit Trees |

denise1 says... First cut it back in half, also half of each twig. Then soak the roots for an hour or two, not much more.put it in a shaded place and neither over nor under watering. The reason is that the roots will be just as damaged as what you see above and you dont want further drying nor drowning. You could tie a plastic bag around the foliage for humidity. The time to recover depends the amount of damage and the subsequent care. | About the Author denise1 auckland NZ 17th August 2016 9:56am #UserID: 6832 Posts: 688 View All denise1's Edible Fruit Trees |
