CJ starts with ... Hi all, Was checking out my local Bunnings garden section recently and came across a "Fireball" apricot and a plumcot with plantnet labels. When I checked out the plantnet website I couldn't find info on either of these trees. Just wondering if anybody can share any information, particularly the chill requirements and whether you would recommend?! Thanks in advance | About the Author Mandurah WA 18th December 2009 11:59am #UserID: 0 Posts: View All 's Edible Fruit Trees |

Jayde says... Apricot - Fireball "A traditional tasting mid season apricot with deep orange coloured skin and very sweet flesh. Suitable for temperate regions with 450 hours chilling. Partially self pollinating but will benefit from pollination with other apricots." https://www.daleysfruit.com.au/forum/fireball-apricot/?PHPSESSID=8d632f2229ceaa9706704303ba39639c 2010, 3/7/10 9.07pm (vague reference, not my work) Hey i work at a prominant garden centre as a horticulturist and have had so many requests for this. I've never had it myself but have heard really good things about it. I would sugest using a cross pollinator as indicated in the above text.As long as they flower at the same time they can pollinate eachother. Also i personally believe if u use organic based fertiliser the taste of any fruit will be superior - the synthetic crap doesn't cut it. Better than shop bought but still not quite the same. Also to keep them strong use Seasol (Berocca for plants).Hope I havn't bored u or told u wot u know already. good luck | About the Author 3rd July 2010 11:18pm #UserID: 0 Posts: View All 's Edible Fruit Trees |
