trikus says... Chambeyronia macrocarpa is from New Caledonia and can be very fast growing , the 'Watermelon' variety has yellow streaking om crownshaft . I do not know of many seed bearing plants and they could be imported , though often available at palm specialist nurseries . New leaf is a stunning deep red colour .

Linton says... Hi, there's a place in Bundaberg called Exotic Green that has been regularly selling these palms online. They're called, Chambeyronia macrocarpa var. houailou hookeri watermelon Red Leaf Palm or Flamethrower Palm. So they're the watermelon type and might be easier to buy a plant than trying to grow from seeds if the cost is no obstacle. Last time for a seedling they were 69.95 plus 25.00 postage so not cheap! | About the Author Linton Springvale, Vic 3rd July 2012 7:50pm #UserID: 2286 Posts: 994 View All Linton's Edible Fruit Trees |
