Flowering Kwan Mango

    2 responses

I bought this Kwan mango from Daleys a few months ago and it is only about 0.5m tall. It has started flowering like crazy (even from the top) and I want to remove the flowers as it is way to small to support fruit growth and I also want it to put it's energy into growth.

My question is where should I remove the flowers as they have taken over the top growing tip?

Hi Scott,

You need to cut off your flowers. With grafted plants they think they are 10+ years old ready to fruit however they need to put on new branches and leaf growth. If you leave the flowers on in the first 2 years you are going to stunt the growth of the tree.

Here is a great video we did on the topic:

Thanks Kath,
The flowers are at the end of the growing tip, should I just cut them off at the base of the flower or further below?
