Hi, am keen to get some advice on which flowering trees would be suitable in a Tropical climate? Am in the Kimberley region of WA and am keen to have more colour and scent on my property

Tall trees, smaller shrubs or a mixture of both?
As an overstory I would go with Delonix floribunda and Colvillea racemosa. Underneath there are lots of options depending on your access to water and how dry you get in winter and spring. Tropical rhododendrons are good in the shade. Im a bit of a fan of clerodendron incisum. Desert roses would probably love Derby. Its probably not as easy to source some things in WA though.

Delonix don't really stir the imagination and there are a few native gravilleas, erythrinas, tropical banksias and small Eucs that can pass muster.Tamerinds, some citrus, mollycoddled guavas, sapodilla, sugar apples and even soursop might be fruit worth a try.Desert roses would be alright and that prickly poinsettia relative with nice flowers....what is it?
