Flying dragon rootstock

Hi I have a flying dragon rootstock in a pot in Brisbane. It is only a young tree (less than 2) and over winter it has dropped all its leaves. The stem remains green. Is the plant going to come back in spring or should it go in the compost? Is there anything I should do to help it along?

They are deciduous, so dropping leaves over winter is normal. They are also a little later to flush in spring than many other deciduous trees.

They are deciduous but none of mine in Adelaide, or the Adelaide Hills for that matter lost their leaves, they just went dark purple. Maybe because they're still fairly young. I wouldn't worry, you should have new leaves emerging soon!
