Linda starts with ... Hi, I hope some one can help me. I need to protect some young tress from frost. Do I cover the tops but not the sides - like putting a little shade sail over them, or do I cover the sides and leave to top open?. I want to protect them for the whole winter (without killing them with darkness !) as I don't have time to be covering and uncovering them ( I have 2 new twins which restrict my time in the garden now) Thanks, Linda | About the Author Linda10 Sydney 14th June 2010 10:24pm #UserID: 3817 Posts: 5 View All Linda10's Edible Fruit Trees |

Joann says... Hi linda Sorry for the late reply. Yes I uncovered them every morning once the sun got on them and threw the hession over them before I went to bed. I only covered them on clear nights. Jackie french has some good things to say about frost protection in her backyard gardening books.
