Griff starts with ... Hi all, I have a courtyard in Brisbane that I want to fill with potted plants, preferably fruit trees and shrubs. I'm new to the gardening scene, so I'm hoping someone can tell me what kind of fruit trees/shrubs will thrive over a long period in pots. The courtyard is sheltered from strong wind and receives at least four or five hours sunlight most days. It's an area where i want to sit and relax, so reasonably attractive plants would be nice, particularly ones that don't require a trellis. They don't all have to be fruit trees either, nice bird-attracting plants or impressive flowering plants would be nice too. I understand potted plants require a lot more care and attention than their regular ground-dwelling cousins, but I'm not looking for anything that requires intensive maintenance or tricky irrigation set-ups. Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks | About the Author Griff Jindalee 20th June 2014 7:25am #UserID: 10074 Posts: 3 View All Griff's Edible Fruit Trees |

Hi Griff, there are a number of threads on this forum discussing container growing - go to the box on top right of this page and type in 'container' or 'pots' or whatever specific tree you want to know about.
