Golden shower! Need help!

Hi please help I'm in Perth and our golden shower tree has suddenly begun shrivelling up all her leaves and new growth. We've been watering it and babying it for months and suddenly the leaves went (3 days ago) yellow and dropped off so we've stopped watering it cause the soil isn't dry. So we Thought it was perhaps too much water but it's been three HOT days and it's getting worse. Leaves all over the ground and what's left on the tree are dry and brittle. It's been in for about a year and we are coming up to Autumn but not there yet.
Any help would be much appreciated as we have worked so hard to get this tree established before winter!

Hi Jaime2

I planted one up here in Northampton and it's 3 years old and it drops its leaves every winter and starts again in summer and it is a very slow grower, there are several large trees around town so i know they survive around here.
Your symptoms sound more like over fertilizing (due to personal experience)
to cause a sudden downfall in the plant or if the drainage is poor to much water might cause issues.

Hi
Thanks.. since we've stopped watering it seems to have stopped dropping its leaves. There's not many left but hopefully it will recover before the winter comes.
