Grape vine planted on tree roots

    0 responses

Hi im planting an isabella black grape vine on my fence/trellis but there is a honey locust tree growing on the other side. The tree is destroying the bricks on the ground and i have injected it with herbicide to kill it, its basically a sucker from the main tree which is 30 meters away.

Will planting my grapevine on a raised bed on top of this tree cause harm to my grape vine? Will the tree suck the nutrients from the soil? The tree looks like its dying as it has only leafed out a bit and the rest of the leaves have died.

Thanks
