FrannieMac starts with ... We live in White Hills a suburb of Bendigo. We have a very old grapevine at a property we have bought. A specialist has trellised the vine but mentioned that it had some disease. We would now like to purchase another vine and plant it at budburst so that if the old vine dies, we have a new one being trained up. The current vine has small sweet grapes that are white. The pergola is north facing. I have no preference for red or white but would like a mildew, disease free, sweet eating variety. Please give me your recommendations. regards, FrannieMac | About the Author FrannieMac White Hills, Bendigo 22nd June 2015 12:37pm #UserID: 11914 Posts: 1 View All FrannieMac's Edible Fruit Trees |
Julie says... Frannie, check that the disease is not transferable to any other grape you plant in the same site. I know it's not the same, but when my peach tree died (can't remember the disease!) I was told I shouldn't replant another peach there. Maybe it doesn't apply, but worth checking. Ask your specialist. | About the Author Julie Roleystone WA 22nd June 2015 6:15pm #UserID: 154 Posts: 1842 View All Julie's Edible Fruit Trees |
