Green Apple - Monodora junodii

    3 responses

Linton starts with ...
Have presented this information in case anyone is interested in Mondora junodii which can be grown in Melbourne. I have it growing for more than 1 year now so it has encountered all seasons.

Hailing from higher altitudes in South Africa and Zimbabwe, the Green Apple fruit is said to be rather dry so it's best attribute is likely to be it's orchid-like flowers.

The following description taken from the internet:

Imagine a tree with a flower like an orchid bloom; one so unusual that next to nothing is known about how to grow it. Would this not be a major garden status symbol? Imagine no longer; but read on and meet the green-apple tree.

To be continued.......

I wonder if the fruit would be more palatable if it was cooked? Some Quinces are woody but they make nice preserves.
Hey Linton, I love that big tea pot😃 in the back ground.

Yoda on DMT says...
That would be a Hookah, Fay.

You wouldn't want to drink the tea it brews.

Oh! I just looked that up. Yes, tea made in that would be sort of interesting. Suddenly, the green apples are looking very tasty 😜
