How mature are the fruit trees from Daleys? (forum)

Just wondering how large and mature the fruit trees generally are when delivered. Is there a choice of how mature they are? Is it better to buy a young tree or a more mature one?
Thanks.

Daleys trees are cheaper but much smaller than another supplier I bought in SA. For example I bought a babaco tree from Daleys and it took me 4 years to have it fruited but the one I bought in SA fruited in the same year. So depending what you want if you have small budget then buy from Daleys then speed it up in growing season with dynamic lifter. But if you want a more mature one then I recomend the one in SA.

Sorry bos I carnt agree with your logic. You can buy 2 or 3 year old trees genearally. For which the price may be accoringly for then charged. How ever then things like bare rooted or potted come into play. As is the fact that Daleys supplys a tree thats been trimed accoringly so it survives the long trips and the shock of new conditions when planting. The people here in SA are producing trees specific for our temps and windy conditions. Therefore have to charge a considerable difference in price for the extra work placed into the plant. This also means that you get a much older tree in general but not trimed back for you at piont of sale. This generally to has its draw backs in weakening the tree.
Now most trees need three to four years to grow a reasonable size and to mature. If you want fruit from year 1 then good luck to you if your tree ever gets a chance for real growth. Beware what what you wish for. GOOD JOB DALEYS WELL DONE (john sb)

It is Perry fruit and nut place. Their trees are more mature but very expensive. The service is not as nice as Daleys in term of advices.
