Diana starts with ... Of interest to a few of us gardeners- Conclusions of a new meta-analysis of the systemic pesticides neonicotinoids and fipronil (neonics) confirm that they are causing significant damage to a wide range of beneficial invertebrate species. “Far from protecting food production the use of neonics is threatening the very infrastructure which enables it, imperilling the pollinators, habitat engineers and natural pest controllers at the heart of a functioning ecosystem” http://www.iucn.org/about/work/programmes/species/?16025/Systemic-Pesticides-Pose-Global-Threat-to-Biodiversity-And-Ecosystem-Services | About the Author Diana Brisbane 25th June 2014 7:52am #UserID: 3004 Posts: 284 View All Diana's Edible Fruit Trees |

Julie says... sternus, not quite sure what you mean. That petitions aren't effective? I have signed a lot of petitions lately that have had a positive result. One was re saving the Great Barrier reef, the other was re logging in Tas forests. Both defeated after a huge protest. So I keep on trying to change the world - it costs nothing. | About the Author Julie Roleystone WA 26th June 2014 11:25am #UserID: 154 Posts: 1842 View All Julie's Edible Fruit Trees |
