Kwan mango flowering non-stop

I bought this Kwan mango tree roughly 6-8 months back, it is small plant - just 2 ft tall. It didn't grow at all in first few months and started flowering in Dec. I removed all flowers when spike was around 30cm long. It flowered again straight way and set flower spike of 40cm long. I decided not to remove flowers until it set the pea-size fruit so that tree does not flower again. I let the 4-5 tiny fruits grow to 5-6cm long and then removed fruits thinking tree will not flower again (made yummy mango chutney of those tine fruits :) ).. Tree has now few new leaves but it is flowering again for the third time in this season, it has now even set tiny fruits..

What can I do to stop it flowering and put energy in new growth instead? I'm growing it in pot and have not given any P based fertilizers.. I have tried giving it dynamic lifter, powerfeed but its not putting energy in new growth. I hope it is the last time it is flowering in this season.

I let mine fruit and it has already cropped and is flushing new growth. Mine flowered three times before I decided letting it fruit was the best course of action for the overly determined plant. It held three fruit the size of large NDM on a foot and a half tall plant...

BJ, both our trees looks exactly same then... How was the taste? This time I'll let mine fruit to full maturity, problem is it won't put on new growth during that time..

How was you Glenn mango this year? I didn't liked mine, it was full of turp.. May be something wrong with the potting mix, not sure.. If it remains same next year as well, I'll replace it with something else...

I too have a Kwan (grafted onto dwarfing rootstock) which I planted in Spring 2012.

It is already about 1.5m and flowered profusely, the stems were an intense pink and attracted a lot of ants, but now it has faded and lost the small flowers. About 12 pea-sized fruits have set, and I am not sure whether it is smart to perhaps leave one and remove the rest.

Would it be able to support a large fruit? Also, when will the fruit be ripe? Already end of Summer...

Wondering if anyone has eaten Kwan mango yet, green or ripe? How does it taste?
And if you also ate nam doc Mai, how is NDM compared with Kwan?
I loves NDM mango, Daley descriptions of Kwan mango give me impression that Kwan is better, disease resistant, larger fruit, cheaper to buy? Seem too good to be true,Wondering if there is a catch?

Haven't tried kwan, but it would have to be a very, very good mango to beat NDM. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Will do.

Those samples are on route, FYI. Spectrum Analysis should be complete by next week also, so we'll know exactly what we're dealing with.

I've always wanted to say that.
