Lemon grass rust?

    2 responses

Diego starts with ...
My very healthy lemon grass clumps recently developed a brown "rust"? on the leaf blades and it gradually covered all the blades. The leaf blades deteriorated to a point where I had to cut the plants off completely at the base. The stumps still look quite healthy and I expect new shoots to grow. I have not experienced this before with lemon grass. Has anyone had a similar experience or a suggestion as to what it might be?

Thanks very much for that MaryT. You did well to find it. It certainly looks like the rust that I had on my plants. The bases of my plants that I cut off are now re-growing and while they look healthy I can't say they will stay that way.
