I have a young mango tree (3-4 month). Its grows indoors, but acouple of days ago most of the leaves displayed black spots as seen in the pictures. Is this some kind of desease?

thank you in advance for your help.

A few tiny spots are not a great threat. To prevent full blown attacks of anthracnose or similar problems, avoid wetting the foliage and keep in an open situation so there is good air flow and so avoid fungal etc spores from settling on the plant. I used chicken manure under some plants and they quickly declined. If you move the plant from indoors to outdoors do it gradually so they can acclimatise or they will burn up.

Hello Denise, thank you for your replay and sorry for my delay.

I pruned the effected leaves back and only left new ones. That helped for a while. Unfortunately my plant is still very young and the desease has already spread into the stem. I have no access to chicken manure.

My plant is always inside, because i have no space outside. Because i live in taiwan, the relative humidity is always fairly high.

I did not use a fungicide which might have been a mistake, and im not sure how effective it would be now since all the leaves and half of the stem are covered in black spots.

does cutting it back to nearly the base help?

thank you for your help.
