mango trees

Had the pleasure of talking to one of your gentlemen a month or two ago and he was interested to see what is happening to many of my mango trees. In short, some of the mango trees have been totally ringbarked up to about 40cm but there are about 6 that have had their bark completely stripped to about 8 ft and are now dying. Tried protecting the trunk with wire but something still stripped the bark. Some of the bark lies on the ground but the majority appears to have been eaten. The bark has long strips hanging off it. Maybe the photos will help. Any advice is appreciated

Looks like a possum or roo/wallabies are eating your trunks... Put some blood & bone around the base of the trunks but not on the trunks.... They will stay away...don't like the smell....

Many thanks for the advice. I will give it a go but it seems that the damage is done. All occurred within about a week or so and since then none of my 20 other mangoes have been touched. I am surprised that possums will eat so much, unless there is a whole tribe
