FarmerWannabe starts with ... It may be too late for my meyer lemon tree, but I wanted to ask first. It has wintered indoors, (southeast USA) but unfortunately I left the country for a month. A friend watered it for me, but I came back to zero leaves and spindly thorny branches. Also, I noticed a while ago a sap or goo that's oozing from the trunk. Before winter, I fertilized with Jobe's citrus fertilizer and occasionally sprayed it with kelp. Also, I bought the tree from four winds growers, so it should have been good quality. (Aka it's something I did wrong, not them.) Is there anything I can do? Should I prune it, fertilize it, repot it, wait for warm weather ... or give up hope? | About the Author FarmerWannabe NA 3rd March 2016 3:57am #UserID: 13433 Posts: 2 View All FarmerWannabe's Edible Fruit Trees |

Brain says... well, in nature, this process occurs naturally and take a bit longer. i.e. the dead branches would weaken over time and wind and rain would eventually bring it down. Of course for the growers, you would trim it asap to stop any diseases spreading, open up the canopy or trunk and of course make the plant look prettier. lol. | About the Author Brain Sunnybank 11th March 2016 1:22pm #UserID: 6289 Posts: 638 View All Brain's Edible Fruit Trees |
