multi grafted pomelo

Hi, I purchased a multi-grafted Grapefruit and Pomelo tree 8 years ago. The grapefruit was supposed to be a ruby but has only produced normal seeded grapefruit last season. The Pomelo has produced fruit for the first time this season, but it does not have a very thick skin and tastes like grapefruit, extremely sour. How can I tell if it is a Pomelo?

Pummeloes usually have large seeds, larger leaves and larger petiole wing (ie looks like small leaf behind the big leaf) than Grapefruit. It could be your climate, Malacoota may not have enough summer heat for good red grapefruit, and most pummelo types will be sourish outside the sub+tropics.

grapefruit is a pomelo hybrid/cross, so naturally they would be similar in taste. the very thick skin is a sign of a pomelo.
