Mundu is Maphut in Thai = มะพูด

Google for that and you'll see video's and pictures.

I'm planting my Maphut in full soil now and hang some plastic snakes in it because the squirrels like to eat the fruits allready.

It's also easy to graft other garcinia;s into it. I have one with achacha, lemon drop and purple mangosteen on it now.

The shape of those tree's does look different though, mine doesn't have so many leaves and more/longer sidebranches then others on the web.

My tree was grown in a small pot for 10 years though, maybe that made it look like this. Also i don't know how they grew it since it has multiple rootstocks which are still taped.

Even in Thailand it's very hard to find this tree fruiting. Purple mangosteen is far more popular.

6 inch tall is not much, they are sold here for 3 au$ and a metre tall. Maybe you can graft it onto another rootstock. Since when do Aussies use inches?

David you can always graft a branch of another dulcis on your tree. Even it's not a dulcis i guess.

When i transported my dulcis (40 km on a motorcycle through Bangkok) I had a few broken branches. I grafted one of those (with flowerbuds) onto my other dulcis and that's growing now. They are easy to graft.

Just for laughs i 'm grafting any garcinia i can find on the other tree now, also i connect all the rootstocks together to make it a very special tree.
The achacha is allready flushing on the dulcis tree.

Garcinia xanthochymus is also called mundu (moendoe) but i just bought one of those here in Bangkok and it looks different then the "real" garcinia dulcis....

I have no idea about which is the real mundu, but maphut is the tree which looks like the one from Joshua in his video.

Also there's a garcinia called maphuut in Thailand, maybe it's the same i don't know.

I'm collecting all garcinia's i can find to make a multiple stem achacha tree with different rootstocks. Let's see what happens with it.

See that's how easy it can be.

I saw many garcinia dulcis (maphut) tree's for sale today and they had big fruit but still green.

I still couldn't taste one.

But they all had multiple rootstocks like mine, and tree's from 150 cm had fruit allready.

They said it were the same rootstocks. 2 or 3 of them together.
