Nectarine/ Peach tree

    2 responses

Phil & Trish starts with ...
I have a Peach tree & a Nectarine tree planted about 3 metres apart.
Both have fruited successfully recently, but the same Nectarine tree then fruited with what can only be described as peaches. They were not looking like the nectarines at all as they were fuzzy & yellow. Is this possible

Did the 'peaches' fruit on the same branch as the earlier nectarines? Are they coming from low down?

If you planted seed from your peach or nectarine you may get a cross, but not otherwise. I have apricots, plums and peaches not far apart but they never cross.

I believe that the trees are grafted.
I cannot say if the fruit was growing on the same branches as the 1st fruiting had finished.- but the same tree did grow nectarines and then peaches.
