Nectarines in minimum soil

Can I grow a nectarine tree in Hornsby NSW? I would like to grow a dwarf nectarine in the ground with about 4-5ft of soil above an underground garage. Is this possible? I have started to get the ground and soil ready and have lined the protective plastic with stones and covered these with mesh so as it can drain through to the outside areas of builders rubble. Then good soil from the compost bin, two bags of excellent garden soil and one bag mushroom compost mixed in with lime. This is now about 2-3ft deep by 4-5ft accross. I will top this up with the same amount when the next compost bin is full. I have done this once before, but it was in South Australia and it was very successful with abundant fruit within 3 years.
I would like to know what nectarine tree is non-acidic? Your site is wonderful! I hope that you can answer me. Verna

I have a dwarf nectarine in a 50 litre pot, so your way ahead of me.

The correct term for non acidic is "sub acid", have a look for white flesh, most avaialble types these days with white flesh are sub acid except fragar.
