Patio plants

Hi,
I have a patio in Brisbane that I want to fill with potted plants. I'm looking for a variety of attractive plants (between 1m and 3m tall) that will thrive in pots for many years. Fruit trees would be great or nice flowering, bird attracting plants.. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Julie, it's in full sun for about 3 to 4 hours each day in the summer. During the winter it gets about 1 hour full sun, then a few hours partial sun.

Mmm, tricky. Sounds like you will be better off sticking to deciduous trees that won't mind the shade in winter.

I think there is more than one thread on this topic - have a look in the search box on top right. 'Plants in pots', 'Fruit trees in pots' etc.
