Can anyone help me with the name of these bugs on my peach tree. The tree also now has several dead branches.

Hi Webbed Feet, these things are the 'cocoon' thingies, the insects have hatched from this and probably flown off. They must be responsible for the drying branches on the peach trees, but I can't see where they have done the damage. And wot's the solution in an organic garden? Kind Regards, Dianna.
