I have a tree [Peanut Butter Tree] which is about 3 years old, with a lot of buds on it. However, not many of these ever open into a flower. Does anyone know why? I am watering it . Thanks.

Dear Helen,
I have noticed your posting for some time now but i did not think i was qualified to reply as my Peanut Butter tree was only 2 yrs in ground as of October 2007. My tree has plenty of buds turning into flowers? but remaining quite small as you will notice by my pictures. I would not be disappointed with it's first flowering as with my 50 odd fruit trees not many deliver edible fruit from flowers on the first attempt.

The "Blue Bird" lady said she has one of these trees in Mt. Angel, Oregon which flowers late summer and has seeds/fruit which the Blue Birds love to eat most of the winter.
