coso says... You're wrong dude, that's not a pepino. Pepino is cucumber. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cucumber Put a new name to that alien fruit, but not pepino. | About the Author coso cosa 5th March 2011 11:24pm #UserID: 5014 Posts: 1 View All coso's Edible Fruit Trees |

616a81T5 says... Pepino is not cucumber, cucurbit, melon or related. It has purple flower, no spikes and is related to tomato and potato. They are great as they don't cause burping like melons and cucumbers. Whats best is mine have ripened this month in Tassie. In this cool weather its really nice to have fresh sweet fruit picked from my garden. Also just snip off the tip of a branch and dunk it in water. The roots will form just above the water level. I have made many rooted cuttings this way. I believe that Pepinos originally came from South America. | About the Author 616a81T5 tas 3rd June 2011 7:25pm #UserID: 5380 Posts: 1 View All 616a81T5's Edible Fruit Trees |
