Hi guys,

I have a few pest eating my precious trees could you help me identify them and maybe find a healthy way to control them? Every trees plant are done as follow: We have clay soil so i dig a large whole, add, gypsum, blood and bone, mushroom compost mixed with coarse sand and imported loamy soil, make a mount of it, plant the tree, water, cover with cypress mulch.
1- I got ants walking inside the soil around the trunk on my Apricot low chill. I put diomateous Earth on there path but it doesn't seems to make much effects.
2- My chestnut Reilly looks like it's dead. Had buds showing during winter then zip nothing else. See pix. its actually on constant drip system with the tree wrap containing water in it.
3- My cashew nut tree (not from your nursery) suddenly it's leaves crumpled. See pix.
4- Peach and Brazilian Cherry leaves have families of insects black and white I never seen before with little hard white eggs below leaf. See pix
5- Orange tree has an ugly caterpillar every now and then. See pix. I usually squish it on the leaf and leave it there.
6- Same orange tree I think its leaf miner chewing the leaves? See pix.
7- Same orange tree a single insect i am unsure of identity. See pix
8- On the pear tree, just an insect I am not too worried about but I am not sure. Just in case you identify it as a pest. Let me know.

I have renamed all pictures for easy look.

In a previous questions i asked about the Raspberry heritage bareroot and what to do with the primocane to cut or not to cut. I left it as told and the whole bed of raspberry is blooming. Just need to get the fruits to mature. Thank you.

I wish you a merry christmas. and see you in the new year.

Spray all your citrus with white oil. You have several bugs but also a predatory wasp there.(the wasp will eat the young of aphids- which may be the black & white bugs, the 6th pic is young of Bronze Orange bug) The caterpillar is eating the leaves - the white oil is organic and will not harm the tree as long as it sprayed when not sunny. An ailing tree will be attacked by more and more pests until it dies so do not over feed the tree just treat the bugs for now...if you force new leaf flush with fertiliser they will just continue to attack until the tree dies. You can make your own white oil with a cup of cooking oil to 2 cups slightly warm water and shake well with a few drops of washing up liquid soap.(the soap makes it stick to the leaves- your tree will thank you - but not sunny as the oil magnifies and burns the leaf.Sundown is best on a dry day.
